2024 Reviewed Date: December 2024 SUMMARY The Manager, Procurement
will lead our procurement and sourcing initiatives for JD North
America. This role is responsible for owning the tender processes
from brief, RFI, tender, analysis and conclusion. Developing and
executing strategies for sourcing all fixtures, furnishings, and
equipment (FF&E), construction materials, and other essential
items for JDs expansion across North America. You will manage a
team of procurement professionals, onboard new vendors, cultivate
and maintain key vendor relationships, and drive cost efficiencies
while ensuring robust contract and risk management. This position
will actively work tenders and projects assigned by the Director
alongside their team to ensure objectives are met. Effective
collaboration with Construction, Visual Merchandising, Operations,
Design and Cost Management departments will be essential to this
role ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manages a team of
procurement sourcing professionals leading by example. Proven
ability to influence teams and drive results. Comfortable leading
in changing environment and ability to adapt accordingly.
Responsible for professional development of team members and
accountable for their results. Develop and implement processes for
tenders and projects ensuring timelines are set and delivered Build
and maintain documents for tender analysis, category management,
vendor performance, alternative vendors, risk management, item
specifications and Fascia build requirements Identify and leverage
global and region-specific opportunities to optimize procurement
strategies and cost savings. Identify and drive cost-saving
initiatives and process improvements within the property
procurement function. Ensure all contractual obligations (SLA/MSA)
are met and conduct necessary financial risk assessments, ensuring
compliance with JD Group standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement due diligence and audit processes, adhering to JD Groups
ethical and environmental standards. Collaborate with the greater
Store Development team, Fascia teams and JD Global on a regular
basis. This role will have regular visibility and face time with
team members up to the SVP level. Report on procurement activities,
cost-saving initiatives, and vendor performance to senior
management. Facilitate internal meetings and support global team
initiatives as needed. Perform other duties and projects as
required to support procurement goals and operational success.
Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring
the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and
informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential
fraud risk. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and
training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in general business, finance, or related field or
equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in procurement/project
management, ideally within a fast paced retail environment. 2-3
years of management experience. Excellent analytical skills and as
it applies to cost analysis. Detailed understanding of retail store
construction, design and components. Ability to influence multiple
stakeholders across all levels of management. Excellent
communicator both written and verbal. Proficient in Excel,
Microsoft Suite, and Google platforms. Proven ability to develop
and execute detailed procurement plans and strategies over long
periods of time (1 year or more). Proven ability to manage multiple
objectives, timelines, and projects simultaneously while delivering
results. Clear understanding of procurement and sourcing
principles. Must be a self-motivated individual. Ability to define
problems, establish facts, and ask difficult questions to draw
valid conclusions. Must have laser focused attention to details.
Must be able to approach unfamiliar situations and projects with
confidence and curiosity. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units
of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to demonstrate a generally accepted knowledge of CAD
principles and Revit program operation. REASONING ABILITY Ability
to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
