RN-Psychiatric Day Shift - Sign-On Bonus! Up to $15k! at HighPoint
- Riverview Regional Medical Center summary:
The RN-Psychiatric Day Shift provides direct patient care in
accordance with nursing standards while focusing on psychiatric and
behavioral health. This role involves administering medication,
documenting patient conditions, and collaborating with care teams
to address patients' physical and emotional needs. The RN also
educates patients and families about care while advocating for
their well-being.
Description:
Job Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process
in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Full-time;36 hours/week
Job Duties:
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication
administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well
as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as
appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family..
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living,
including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and
ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient
care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and
spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides
patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition,
and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of
the patient.
Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every
2 years.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
Minimum EducationAssociate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma
required.
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment
and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to
work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must
be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular
Life Support (ACLS) required within 12 months of employment.
License: Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure
Minimum Work ExperienceSix months to one year experience with
psychiatric/behavioral patients
